At
the beginning of the year, Mannino¹s
owner Guy Giacalone closed the popular restaurant in
Fairhaven to reopen in February with a new cuisine and
name- Spoon, Urban Bar & Supper Club. Four months
later, responding to customer demand, they¹ve reopened
once again as Manninos, Bella Cucina, featuring their
famous family Italian cuisine at 1007 Harris Ave in Historic
Fairhaven.
The
changeto Spoon threw customers off, admitted Giacalone.
Located for many years in downtown Bellingham, Mannino¹s
had just begun to lure their old clientele to Fairhaven
after their move.
"We
hadn¹t realized the extent
of loyal following we had. People came in asking where
the caesars went. No one knew who we were," said Giacalone. "They
just loved the old Manninos."
A
change in kitchen staff became a deciding factor, and
it was time to return to their Italian roots.
Manninos is open 5 to 9 Tues-Sat, Sunday 4-8. They plan
to begin opening for lunch soon.
"The
warm weather is coming soon," said Giacalone. "And our
outside seating will be ready."
