weather was hot and so was the Nooksack
River Casino's Best of the Pacific Northwest BBQ Cookoff!
Over 4,000 people attended this first ever event with
eight BBQ cookers vying for the official bragging rights
to the "Best BBQ Sauce", "Best BBQ Pork Shoulder",
Best BBQ Pork Ribs, and Best BBQ Chicken. Also chosen
on Saturday afternoon was the "Grand Champion" and
on Sunday an award for the "People's Choice".

Inn Get-A-Way that included an overnight stay at Smuggler's
Inn Bed & Breakfast in Blaine with a Smuggler's
limousine ride to Nooksack
River Casino for dinner
and breakfast
at Big
Al's Diner in Blaine. Maryann Angus from the Mount
Baker Chamber of Commerce did the honor of drawing
the lucky ticket and the winner for this giveaway is
