T'is the season for indulgence
(NC)-For most, the holiday season is the best time of year, bringing time with friends and family and a free pass to indulge in all of the season's tasty treats.
This year, as you hit the party circuit, or entertain at home, embarking on the annual onslaught of food and drink, Carolans Irish Cream has developed a few tips to help you truly savour the season and your favourite indulgences:
For the chocolate lover - The next time you catch yourself rushing through chocolate, try this little game. Take a chocolate square that's about the size of a postage stamp and try to eat it without using your teeth. The time it takes for the chocolate to melt over your tongue should be just enough to actually appreciate what you're tasting.
For the coffee lover - For many, morning coffee is a ritual, and habits take us to the same place each day for the same order. The problem with this is that our tastes actually do change over time. This holiday season, coffee lovers can indulge themselves by spending time trying new blends, flavours and concoctions outside their daily norm. Chances are you'll revert to that non-fat chai latte after two weeks of holiday excess, but an Ultimate Irish Coffee just might find a special place in your heart (recipe at timeforme.ca).
For the after dinner crowd - As holiday feasts comes to an end, many feel the urge to move to the sofa and curl up with a soothing cocktail. When the weather outside is frightful, remember that there is no better comfort drink than the creamy pleasures of Irish Cream. Be sure to stock up on Carolans before your guests arrive, and visit timeforme.ca for some of the best holiday drink recipes you can find.
More than anything else, remember this holiday season that it's ok to indulge (in fact, it's encouraged) but as you do, take time to truly appreciate those special tastes of the season as they cross your taste buds.
Drink responsibly and under no circumstances drink and drive.
