Skylark's Hidden Cafe
Wins 2008 Annual Chowder Cookoff
Skylark's Cafe in Fairhaven won First Place in both the Peoples Choice and Judges Choice at the Annual 2008 Dirty Dan Days Chuckanut Chowder Cookoff on April 27th with their House Clam Chowder. This is the most recent of many awards won by the Cafe over the years for their soups, including the Allied Arts Soup Festival, Soup for Shelter, Rotary Club's "Grape & Gourmet" and last year at the Chuckanut Chowder Cookoff.
"It was an amazing honor," said owner, Don White. "It's the popular chowder we serve every day in the restaurant."
Skylark's opened in Fairhaven in 1995 and has continually expanded seating, kitchen space and menu offerings. They were closed in February to double the kitchen space and re-opened in March to record breaking sales.
Skylark’s is open 7 days a week at 7:00 am with dine-in or take-out orders for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and has a full bar. The cafe is located at 1308 11th Street, bordering both the street in front and the cobblestone walkway behind.
